Ever since gracing us with its presence back in 2019, the Volkswagen Arteon has been a stylish site on American roads. For the new model year, the 2022 Arteon received more technology updates and style updates, inside and out, to keep its edge.

Designed to evoke the sportiness of a coupe with the space and flexibility of a midsize sedan, the 2022 Arteon continues to offer the feeling of luxury and power with upgrades to the engine, transmission, interior technology and exterior elements.

More Powerful Than Ever

For 2022, the Arteon received a big boost with an upgrade to a new 2.-liter TSI engine – the same evo4 EA888 that powers the 8th-generation Golf R and produces 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The engine brings an increase to former models which offered 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, a seven-speed transmission with Triptronic replaces the eight-speed automatic giving the sedan the sportiness and performance similar to the brand new Golf R.

The updates to the 2022 Arteon engine increases performance and mark the most powerful 4-cylinder sedan Volkswagen has ever offered in the U.S. This powertrain upgrade also brings increased fuel efficiency for the 2022 model year.

New Definition of Sleek

For the 2022 Arteon, the R-Line treatment became standard for the SE trim, rounding out the entire

Arteon lineup with R-Line features. The upgrade includes new 18-inch R-Line multispoke alloy wheels, the R-Line logo on the grille and a fender, a steering wheel with paddle shifters, contrast stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob, an infotainment R-Line welcome screen and much more.

The five available colors, Kings Red Metallic, Lapiz Blue Metallic, Deep Black Pearl, Oryx White and Moonstone Gray, all compliment this sporty sedan’s aerodynamic sleekness.

A Look Inside

Inside the 2022 Arteon, you will find that new available technology, materials and designs are now standard. The reworked dash features Volkswagen’s Digital Cockpit as standard, along with an 8-inch Discover Media touchscreen powered by the latest MIB3 entertainment system. MIB3 offers natural voice control, multi-pairing that can easily switch between compatible devices, and wireless App-Connect.

Volkswagen’s interior designers redid the entire dash, center console, and door trims, with upgraded fabrics and leather available throughout 2021, and no standard for 2022. Available 30-color ambient lighting, aluminum and leather trim surfaces, and even premium stitching give the sedan more interior ambiance than ever before.
