Volkswagen recently announced that the Volkswagen ID.4 is getting a major update for its 82 kWg battery models – including a new performance driver unit that delivers greater performance and expected improvements to EPA-estimated range, an improved display infotainment system, and anew premium audio system.

Highlights:

  • New Performance unit for 82 kWh models delivers greater horsepower and range for both rear-wheel drive and AWD models compared to the previous model year.
  • New 12.9-inch infotainment display with backlit sliders for 82 kWh models.
  • Faster Charging.
  • Updated Interior.

The driving force behind major upgrades to the new ID.4 is the introduction of a new performance drive unit that delivers greater horsepower and range. The rear-wheel drive model produces an impressive 282 horsepower, while the AWD model now makes 330 horsepower. This increase certainly helps boost acceleration and is anticipated to deliver enhanced range.

Once again, Volkswagen continues to provide upgraded technology that enhances the driving experience. While 62 kWh ID.4 models continue with the standard 12-inch infotainment display, 82 kWh models receive an enhanced 12.9-inch display with backlit sliders, as well as a new and more intuitive climate control interface and a revised infotainment menu.

Comfort and convenience are prioritized even further in the new ID.4 S models with the 82 kWh batter including ventilated front-row seats, and S Plus models receive a premium harman/Kardon audio system with nine speakers, plus a subwoofer, and a 16-channel amplifier.

Finally, on the outside, wheel upgrades enhance the 2024 electric SUV.  ID.4 Standard AWD models feature larger, 20-inch aluminum-allow wheels, and S Plus models upgrade to 21-inch machined allow wheels.

Pricing for the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 will be released in early 2024.
