Another Reason to Love the Volkswagen Atlas – SUV Takes Home 2021 Family Car of the Year by Cars.com

There is a lot to love about the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas – excellent safety ratings, plenty of advanced technology, spacious interior, and much more. In fact, the 2021 Atlas is a perfect car to get into this winter.
Those are not the only reasons, though. For the second year in a row, the Volkswagen Atlas has been named Family Car of the Year by Cars.com. The Atlas beat out other nominees such as the Kia Telluride for the top honor of Cars.com Family Car of the Year, and won over judges with its comfortable ride, easy handling, spacious third-row and cargo area, and overall practicality.

“We designed and built the Atlas specifically for American families,” said Scott Keogh, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America. “We’re thrilled for Atlas to be named Family Car of the Year by Cars.com for the second year running. Awards like this, along with the sales numbers, are proof that we’re nailing it with this car.”

The criteria that are involved with being named Family Car of the Year includes crash test results, safety features, and the accommodation of family members and their belongings, whether that be cargo or safety seats. Standout features for the Atlas include the suite of standard and available driver-assistance features and its straight-A grades in Cars.com’s Car Seat Check in 2020. In addition to Family Car of the Year, the Atlas also home Highest Overall Safety Rating from National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA) for 2020.
